Como muchos sabéis, los primeros días de noviembre han comenzado con un terrible acontecimiento meteorológico, una tormenta con lluvias torrenciales que ha asolado gran parte del sur del país, en especial la Comunidad Valenciana. Nuestro refugio está situado en Sevilla donde también las fuertes lluvias han causado muchos daños e inundaciones, con muchas asociaciones protectoras afectadas.
Nosotros afortunadamente no hemos tenido que lamentar grandes pérdidas más allá de vallados, heno y paja y mantas y toallas que se han echado a perder. Hemos tenido que reubicar a los perros para protegerlos de las inundaciones que se produjeron en los parques, que se encuentran en la parte más baja de la finca. Con varias edificaciones con los tejados en muy mal estado, hemos tenido que lidiar con varias habitaciones anegadas de agua.
La situación más terrorífica fue que el arroyo que rodea la entrada de la finca creció tanto que nos quedamos incomunicados durante casi tres días y temíamos por que la puerta o el puente que es el único acceso a la finca cedieran . Hemos sido afortunados comparados con otros refugios, pero aún así, necesitamos ayuda económica para poder arreglar los techos, construir casetas para poder aislar a los perros para que tengan siempre un espacio libre de agua y fango en los parques, disponer de nuevas habitaciones en la parte alta de la finca para que todos los perros tengan su espacio completamente a cubierto,comprar cajas de almacenamiento estancas, mantas... y necesitamos renovar con urgencia todo el sistema eléctrico, ya que lleva años en una situación paupérrima y con la tormenta ha estado dando chispazos durante días con el peligro que ello conlleva.

As many of you know, the first days of November have begun with a terrible weather even, a storm with torrential rains that has devastated much of the south of the country, especially the Valencian Community. Our shelter is located in Seville, where the heavy rains have also caused extensive damage and flooding, affecting many protective associations.
Fortunately, we have not suffered significant losses beyond fencing, hay, straw, and blankets and towels that have been ruined. We had to relocate the dogs to protect them from the flooding in the parks, which are located in the lowest part of the property. With several buildings having severely damaged roofs, we’ve had to deal with multiple rooms flooded with water.
The most terrifying situation was when the stream surrounding the entrance to the property rose so high that we were cut off for almost three days, fearing the gate or the bridge—the only access to the property—might give way. We have been fortunate compared to other shelters, but even so, we need financial assistance to repair the roofs, build kennels to keep the dogs in dry, mud-free areas in the parks, provide new rooms in the upper part of the property so that all the dogs have fully covered spaces, buy waterproof storage containers, blankets... and urgently renovate the entire electrical system, which has been in a poor state for years and has been sparking during the storm, posing a serious danger.
